School Council
At Jordan Public School, we believe that parents are important and make a real difference to children's learning. When parents are involved children do better and achieve more. School Council allows everyone involved in school life - parents, learners, teachers, school staff and the wider community to work together to support the school. It also allows all parents to have a say in their children's education by affording the opportunity to express their views and ideas.
The council functions as an advisory body to the principal and, on
occasion, to the Board. The council
provides advice on a variety of
issues and reflects the school community in composition and function.
They are also involved in
several fundraising projects throughout the year. Meetings are usually
held six times a year on Tuesday evenings.
Every fall, a newsletter is
sent home asking for parent
involvement on our
School Advisory Council.
The role of the School Council is to act as an advisory body to the principal /vice-principal and, on occasion, to the Board. Our School Council provides advice on a variety of issues and reflects the school community in composition and function. Meetings will be held in the school library (please see your newsletter for Dates).
Early in September a newsletter is sent home with your child(ren) asking if parents/ guardians would like to become or continue to be a member of our Parent Council.
To inquire about becoming a member of our school council, please call Jordan Public School at (905) 562-7491, or send us an email.
